SCHOOL FETE

I sat down today with a plethora of thoughts walking down the memory lane. Each one contending with the other to win, they are meddling with my memory compartment. The box of anger and happiness both wait to be opened on this article; making a pick would surely disappoint the other. I’m thinking letting down anger is far better than giving up on the small shred of glee. My day was actually as awesome as the students of the glee club, although I wasn’t singing in my highest pitch in the middle of the corridor. So, it was a little bit of a reunion time on my hands amidst the fury of final exams. No matter how much you deny, seeing a memento of your past- a beautiful past- can surely make you all ‘gooey’; I know the word isn’t exactly appropriate but I kind of like it that way! Watching the colors fly high on the school winter carnival and watching my alma mater finally after a year-long gap was definitely over-whelming; but the best part of school, as always, was “Friends”. Meeting th...

Ego

Have you ever felt like a major part of your life is flitting out of your hands; that what made you has now forsaken you? All my life, I have been the rock of the house and around; the shoulder to lean on, the pillar holding the roof. Ever since I can remember, I have taken charge, of life, of situations, of myself. Leading is now an inevitable part of me. The surroundings somehow made me intrepid and undoubtedly, proud of it. As far as the human memory permits, as far as the memoires are visible through burgeoning layers of dust, I see a girl standing tall, prudent and vigilant. I see myself with a sword and shield, armored and ready. They say that children are like moist clay; they are chiseled permanently by time; turns out that my time cast me into a protector. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not complaining. It’s a great feeling- to be independent, to be self-possessed and more than anything else, to be strong. The confidence that comes as a part and parcel with the feeling that you ar...

Time Pass

In a fresh mood to veer off from the basic aura of my blog, I have not a thought or fathomed maxim, rather a corsage of moments that I relish as much as chocolate mousse. The delightfulness of the time and beguile of the short yet somehow never ending phase deserves to be part of memoirs. Spending an entire day by your wish, sleeping, eating and watching the idiot box while munching on chips is the kind of day that would ideally, well, magnetise me; and here I stand, subjugated by my friends. The recent turnouts of events have left me under ecstasy; not to mention I was almost thrown out of a movie hall and convicted by family for allegedly losing my brains. For the first time in my subsistence, I actually went out and wrecked the preparatory leaves of the most important exams and resplendently enough, I had the time of life. It is most indubitably awesome to go out and lose your hair, not literally of course- then you would be mad. Hanging out with friends can make you overcome any...

Ode to the West Wind by Percy Bysshe Shelley

When the cobwebs of time grab me in their tangles and the struggles compel me to disavow the avowal of heart, a few simple sweet words act as the helping hand and pull me out of the frailty. I read ‘The Ode to the West Wind’ way back when I was in school; yet, the feelings of help P.B.Shelly manages to ensnare in his words can still touch a chord. All of us have had those moments where we crumple on our knees with head in hands or high up with aspiration. The poet is going through a phase somewhat similarly stern. WORDS

There are words flowing in and out of me. My mind is taking a toll so big; the words don’t seem to stand a chance. My heart is constantly pumping them in arteries but as soon as they reach ‘The Gate’ – Poof – vanish in the thin air. As I write this piece of poorly selected and awfully permuted bundle of letters, a gallon of thoughts boils inside me, growing which each rising degree of temperature. Still, even in this fog of steam, one star outshines through the haziness. Why is it that some thoughts leave their mark and others fail to perturb you the slightest? It’s like you imprint (for those who don’t know, imprint is a werewolf phenomenon brought into existence by Stephanie Meyer) on certain thoughts; they hold you to themselves for what seems like eternity. We all have those memories- of words and actions- of own and others- that sway the very core of our soul and carve a permanent place for themselves. These thoughts are like the raindrops that dig a hole deeper and deeper into t...
