NO STRINGS ATTACHED

Have you ever attempted to climb a mountain, or even a tree? There is a lot of fear engulfing a mammoth portion of your teeny little courage when you take that deep breath in and set your first foot forward. That loss of courage is often followed a tail wagging, tongue flapping spur to climb a bit higher. There a lot of falls and a whole lot more hikes before you finally reach the top; but that’s just it. No one ever said what happens next; what Do you Do once you’ve reached the finish line?
When a colossal part of your existence reaches its final destiny, you are left with a clean slate all over again. No matter how good or bad that “ERA” may have been, when something comes to end, it is bound to leave behind a void filled with memories soaked in a tear here and there. All that time while you were climbing that mountain or tree, you thought the hardest part was keeping together while lifting your foot forward; but it is the climax that tells you that leaving it all behind and lifting your foot forward knowing that that might be the last step you take in that picture of life is the hardest thing to do. Believe me; I too am counting my final steps out of a phase filled with beautiful as well as bitter moments.
As I prepare myself to leave college and step out in the sun, I can only remember the good and bury the past behind. Shakespeare once said by the mouth of Mark Antony- “The good that people do is often buried with their bones”; true as it maybe, it is also true that “The tears brought by reminiscences are strong enough to wash away those of unhappiness”.
In a matter of days, I will have no strings attached with my alma mater yet there will be bonds left behind. When I would walk down those streets again after years, I will see the faces again full of only joy and cheer. Touching those long lost walls would bring back glimpses of a past we had; closing my eyes shut in the class would remind me of the sleepy dust.
No matter how far we go, no matter what boat we sail, we always carry in our heart memoirs, even if there are no longer strings attached!!!
